NABAS Training Event
The NABAS signature event, PIE40 (Party Industry Event) is being held at the stunning Slate Conferences at Warwick University on 9th, 10th and 11th October 2027! This event will packed with inspirational instructors and designs, a big décor build, gala dinner and awards ceremony.
Whether you are new to the industry or have years of experience under your belt this is an opportunity NOT to be missed! As well as getting hands on and learning new techniques, you’ll also have the chance to network with like minded balloonies, get inspirational ideas and photos and use products you might not have experienced before!
What is NABAS?
NABAS is the National Association of Balloon Artists and Suppliers and was set up in 1987. It is managed by a committee of members, working hard on behalf of all the members to set high industry standards, provide unrivalled support and encourage a supportive family atmosphere where members are able to ask for and receive support. Level One Training
Whether you have dabbled with balloons in the past or are now considering a career in balloon decorating, then the NABAS Level One course has been designed with you in mind! Our full day, hands on class takes you through topics including the different gases, basic decor techniques, job costing, health and safety, marketing and much more, and you will leave with a broad, unbiased level of knowledge to help build your confidence when working with balloons.
With a maximum of 6 delegates per class, the cost is £250 to include materials, certificate and NABAS course manual. Please check the table below for 2026 training dates in Norfolk and Essex.
Plus, once you have successfully completed this course you can join NABAS as a member with 10% off your first year’s membership which includes our excellent liability insurance, access to the closed Facebook group and support from members across the UK.
It is vital that you have liability insurance in place before selling balloons to the public, and if you join NABAS (www.nabas.co.uk/join-nabas/) as a member then you will get excellent industry specific insurance as part of your membership. In addition, for less than 55p a day, your membership includes access to the members area of the website which is packed with downloadable resources covering design inspiration, marketing materials and much more, supplier discounts, access to the closed Facebook group where fellow members provide advice and support to others within our NABAS family, a free member listing promoting your business and much more!

Follow On Training after completing Level One
Level Two Training
This is a progressive class following on from the fundamentals covered in Level One. This is more hands on, working on larger pieces of decor using more techniques and delivering greater impact!
Everyday Corporate
If you want to approach corporate clients this is the class for you! We'll cover lots of important information and also get hands on with some stunning decor that are perfect for corporate events. Stock kindly sponsored by Sempertex Europe.
Air Filled On Trend
In this class we'll create a 'balloon hug' which makes a wonderful gift, along with a number stack which includes a range of techniques to add different embellishments.
Faux Flowers and Balloons
Balloons and flowers work together perfectly, and on this course you'll learn how to work with artificial flowers and combine them in beautiful balloon designs to make your work really stand out.
